KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III ‘the Great’, 336-323 BC. Drachm (Silver, 20 mm, 4.20 g, 12 h), Magnesia ad Maeandrum, struck under Lysimachos, circa 301/0-300/299. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟ[Υ] Zeus seated left on low throne, holding long scepter in his left hand and eagle standing right with closed wings in his right; in field to left, lion head left above E; below throne, monogram of AP. Price 1993. Thompson 93 corr. (lion forepart). Struck on a very broad flan. A couple of minor marks in the reverse field, otherwise, extremely fine.
